SINGLE RYE (100% SEIGLE MALTE)

Notes

R15D24 TRIANGLE is the third part of the exploration into how the degree of balance impacts the taste of our whiskies.

R15D24 is a parcel whisky made from a single plot of rye (Caroas variety) from the Gabert climate, harvested in 2015. Aged for 8 years in a single cask, the 254, an ex-yellow wine cask, it was then divided into three batches, each worked in reduction around different degrees of balance, each revealing a singular facet of this whisky of character, a clean, tasty and legitimate expression.

Tasting recommendations

Between amateurs. Character, no compromise, no uniformity, impossible consensus. Listening to Sinatra sing "I get a kick on you". Atmosphere. Always check beforehand that the deck contains 52 cards before the first round.

PINK GOLD

Nose

Big burst of freshness on the nose! It suggests a fine concentration of aromas, wood, rye and strength.

Mouth

The texture is superbly creamy, almost corpulent. It's carnal, powerful, virile but reassuring. The raw energy of the cask takes on its full meaning here, like an uppercut that feels like a caress. The story of the romantic boxer who plays the piano.

Final

At 59°, this R15D24 Triangle certainly has broad shoulders. But it's not aggressive, just powerful and full-bodied, with an amazingly long aftertaste. With the distinct impression that it's the rye that's on a mission to support the taste of the yellow cask in small explosive bursts: Grenoble / Lons-le-Saunier, 2h20 passing along the A48.
