It is with immense pride that we joined the Regenerative Organic Alliance (ROA) this summer, and Les Hautes Glaces announce that they are becoming the world's first Regenerative Organic Certified (ROC) whiskey distillery.

What is the ROC label?

The Regenerative Organic Certified (ROC) certification was created in 2017 in the USA by the Regenerative Organic Alliance (ROA), a group of experts, business leaders, and farmers, of which Patagonia is one of the founding members. The objective of this new label is to put an end to industrial agriculture and provide solutions to the current climate crisis. It is the most demanding organic standard, ensuring soil rehabilitation, animal welfare, improved working conditions, and fair remuneration, ultimately working for life in general, from soil microorganisms to workers. The certification applies to food, textile, and personal care ingredients.

Why is Les Hautes Glaces committed to ROC certification?

Founded in 2009 in the heart of the French Alps, Domaine des Hautes Glaces is a farm & distillery committed to a holistic and organic approach: by mastering each stage of production (from the seed that is sown to the whiskey to be tasted), Les Hautes Glaces' ambition is to offer the world of spirits specialty whiskies, Grand crus that convey the spirit of a living territory and fertile nature. Having observed the emergence of the ROC Label across the Atlantic for several years and noting the synergies of values, approaches, and practices, Les Hautes Glaces was delighted to learn that the ROA had decided to open up internationally and extend the possibility of certification to Europe.
